Unexpected Ways

This past Sunday our family was blessed to visit Evangelist Crusaders in Minneapolis. If you’re ever looking for a church to visit or attend that is filled with the joy and love of the Lord, the truth of His Word and amazing praise music, take the time to connect with them, as He truly dwells among His people.

Midway through the service a mom and her many beautiful children got up to share special music: “Yes” by Shekinah Glory. I had never heard that anointed song before, nor was I expecting the beautiful, powerful singing that came forth from that mom and her kids. Within 30 seconds I knew the Lord was speaking right to me about something specific I have been praying about for a long time. I stood there with my hands lifted high and tears streaming down my face for the remaining 8 minutes and 30 seconds of the song and just said, “yes!” (I found out later how long it was…I could have stood there forever if they’d just kept singing). It was such an incredibly powerful experience in the presence of the Lord and one I will always remember (it’s in my journal). I know that something huge took place in both the spirit and natural realms that day in the midst of the voices of a mom and her kids. (Psalm 8:2, “From the lips of children and infants You have perfected praise.” ) We don’t have to understand it; we just have to believe and say, “yes.” I have had such an expectation in my spirit since and can’t wait to see what the Lord has purposed!

When you truly desire to seek the Lord, to hear His voice, and take the time, He will speak to you in so many unexpected ways: a song, a child, a neighbor, a friend, a dream, a sign, a letter – the list is endless…if you’re seeking (the “Lifestyle of Worship” article on this page references more examples). His eyes are on those whose hearts are on Him (2 Chronicles 16:9). Keep a journal and write down the things that should not be forgotten; the revelations and mile markers that are to be passed on to the next generation as a record of His faithfulness and goodness, and as your own family record of His infinite, personal, and amazing ways.
