I know so many people who are waiting for answered prayers to manifest in their lives/circumstances that have been prayed for literally years: prayers we know are the heart and will of our Heavenly Father – His Word does not return void – healing, provision, the fulfillment of prophetic words prayed over individual lives and families, connections, debt, friendships, marriages, ministries, for the Lord to move in churches, cities and nations. How about the elections we recently experienced, or all of the issues going on in our culture/media that cause us to shake our heads in disbelief on a daily basis (abortion and homosexuality for starters)? How about all of the trends contrary to the word of God pushing Him out of this nation, or all of the signs indicating we are quickly moving into the fulfillment of the end times we’ve read/been taught about (unfortunately many have been deceptively taught that these things don’t exist/won’t ever happen, and that we need to be careful to view the book of Revelations as strictly an historical account of the past)?

In these times we are living in, my spirit is frequently groaning the words to Jason Upton’s song, “Lord, teach me how to pray. Not my will or my plans or the way that I want, I’m so tired of my hands in the way. So reveal to these eyes the true heart of my Father, today, Oh God. Lord, teach me how to pray. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, Oh Father, here on earth just as it is in Heaven. A passion for Your heart, Oh God, raise up a generation with a passion for Your heart, Oh God. Where Your heart breaks, Oh God, let my heart break, Oh God, Oh God. Raise up a prophetic generation not about the future or fortune or fame or fad, but about the feelings on Your heart, Oh God. Teach us how to pray, Oh Father. So I’ll keep asking for Your Kingdom to come; looking for Your will to be done for every nation, tribe and tongue, Lord, teach me how to pray. Open our ears that we may hear. Open our eyes that we may see. Open up our ears, open up our eyes that we may see. Lord, teach us how to pray.”

I keep pressing in daily to seek His face and to obey His Word. I want to have so much of Christ in me that I see what the Father is doing and I hear what the Father is saying and I actually witness Him bring it to Earth through me. It’s His will that our good friend Ted does not have to battle the cancer he’s had to battle for years, but rather that he lives to see his grandchildren, just as the Lord spoke to him. It’s His will that our friend Diane, a homeschool mom with 5 young kids, does not have to battle cancer. It’s also His will that Diane’s daughter, Sarah, whom she chose to give life to in honor and obedience to glorify the Lord (rather than abort her as doctors would have chosen), be healed of Trisomy 18. It’s His will that Kingdom people who know and love the Lord and desire to sow financially where He leads them to sow don’t have to struggle with finances, not having a job, etc.. It’s His will that families don’t get divorced; that marriage covenants are honored and His children don’t have to grow up in broken homes, abandoned or abused. It’s His will that our dear friends with 5 kids should not have had to bury their 50 year old mom due to cancer. It’s His will that all His children would come to know His love rather than push Him out of society. It’s His will that our nation stay aligned with Israel. It’s His will that we do not allow the Freedom of Choice act to be passed and that we come to understand the sanctity of life. It’s His will that we keep the sanctity of marriage between a man and woman. It’s His will that our President lead this nation with the Father’s heart and will; according to the leading of His Spirit as one nation under God and everything that encompasses.

The list of the goodness of the Lord’s heart, His love and His will, His plans and purposes is endless. I wholeheartedly desire to know how to know Him so intimately that I tap into that place Jesus told us we would tap into when He declared that we would do greater works…what could be greater than what Jesus accomplished? A Kingdom people all over the world being aligned with the fullness of His heart and authority bringing it to manifest here on the earth because of what He accomplished on our behalf.

I ask the Lord daily to help me pray for every child who has no one in their lives to pray over them, protect them, nurture them or teach them to know Him and His love; teach them they have a destiny and a purpose in His Kingdom. I pray for every aspect of the Lord’s heart and will for each one to manifest here on Earth just as it does in Heaven. In God’s economy I know there is everything good they need; there is no lack and there is no evil in Heaven. Lord, teach me how to bring it to Earth in the same way Jesus taught His disciples to when He walked the earth.

Therefore, it is my 2009 goal to learn to pray in such a way that my Father’s will and heart can manifest on Earth through me; to be His daughter, His friend, His vessel, aligned, surrendered and anointed in Christ…someone my Father is looking for who’s heart and mind are set on Him. In that place I know I won’t be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal just going about doing my own thing my own way and not manifesting His love to the world. Only then will I have found my Kingdom place in this world.

The Lord gave me the following songs on my prayer walks. I believe they reflect the days we are living in and His heart for this nation.

TOO MUCH RELIGION
Hear the cries of the unborn, yet murder is a crime
Ban speech for some, but for others it’s fine
Redefine the family to fit our current need
This generation’s on to this, longing us to see that there’s

Too much religion and not enough truth
Too much hypocrisy confronting our youth
Too much of living all for ourselves
Don’t want our destinies sitting on some shelf

There is only one way, there is only one truth
There is only one life and He is calling Your name
His love for you is true
Now’s the time for change ‘cuz He’s returning soon

I want to walk in freedom; I just want to be real
Is there any one who truly love and wants to know how I feel?
Stop polluting, controlling, everything in my life
With things so unreal, perverted, contrived

I want to walk in freedom; I just want to be real
I’ve found the One who truly loves and wants to know how I feel
In Him I am chosen, made new and alive
Righteous and holy; a pure spotless bride
