Humility, Prayer and Seeking

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 14:7

This Scripture is a kairos word (a “now” word) from Heaven for a Kingdom of God people. If there was ever a time to pray fervently…to seek the heart and will of our Heavenly Father, it’s the days we are currently living in. It’s time to bring the living words of Scripture into the reality of every moment of existence (it’s time for the rubber to meet the road as the saying goes). The Church of God must rise up in the authority Jesus Christ has placed within us, and actually become the Church who humbles ourselves, prays, seeks the face of our God, and turns from our wicked ways…the Church who stands in the gap for the many sins of our nation…who cries out for God’s mercy, His justice, His goodness and His blessings to return to this nation (when are people going to connect pushing God out of our nation with our current lack of blessing?)…to embrace the part about loving Him and loving others. Loving Him and His ways comes first; we can only truly love others with His love and through His ways (with a love that is beyond man in himself). If we push His ways out of our nation, we cannot possibly love others the way we need to or the way others need us to.

We have a framed print in our bedroom of two large hands cupped together that are filled with babies of all nationalities. I’ve always thought of it as a picture of our Heavenly Father holding His precious children in His hands…“Jesus loves the little children…all the children of the world…red and yellow black and white, they are precious in His site…Jesus loves the little children of the world.” However, this A.M. in worship, the Lord revealed to me that in reality the print represents the multitudes of babies He has had to “reassemble” after they’ve been aborted. He created each one so perfectly with Kingdom destiny and purpose and sent them to earth as gifts, only to be rejected and face violent deaths, much like His Son on the cross. I cried and cried because there’s soooo many…His hands are so full…the hands of our Creator, infinitely large and so gentle filled with reassembled babies…I cried because that was never His plan.

It was never His plan that there would be soooo many orphans…so many rejected…(it was never His heart that fathers walk away from their children nor that broken families would be such an acceptable part of our society; it was never His heart that so many of His children walk around wounded and unhealed because of their earthly fathers and mothers; it was never His heart that a baby knit carefully together in a womb have its life ended so mercilessly and thrown out as trash)…the corruption of man’s heart has brought tremendous devastation to the children of God and to this nation.

Anyone who’s still wandering around not finding their acceptance in Him has an orphan heart. Anyone who’s walking through this life carrying wounds from their childhood has an orphan heart. We have a nation filled with orphan hearts or we wouldn’t even consider the murder of innocent children a choice. Someone who’s not found their acceptance in the Father’s love and their place in His Kingdom through Jesus is going to look at taking the life of an innocent child as insignificant/as inconvenient…is going to look at redefining family and marriage between one man and one woman as a legal right in order to accommodate the flesh and an unhealed orphan heart.

Oh, God, please remove the veil from the eyes of every individual in this nation…send the spirit of the fear of You, again, Oh Lord, help us to see all of the issues at stake in this election from Your eyes, from Your perspective, and not from our own self-centeredness…not from the delusion that the humanists have so creatively woven into the very fabric of our educational institutions, our government and our churches. Oh, God, have mercy on us and save us from ourselves. We humbly cry out for You to send Your Spirit of revelation, wisdom and understanding, counsel, might and knowledge, and that You would send it quickly, Oh Lord…Help us not to vote ignorant of the real issues on Your heart, oh Creator of the Universe. Take our eyes off our economy and our pocket books…take our eyes off the war and the natural perceptions it involves (the war is a spiritual battle of powers and principalities that we need to start understanding with the eyes of our spirit and not with our natural minds)…take our eyes off of selfishness that wants to take away the freedom to worship You in Spirit and in Truth…our right to live by Your laws and Your truth…to speak it forth without “hate-crime” repercussions. Oh, God, raise up a Church who will stand for righteousness, justice and truth…let not a single person be deceived in this election…open the eyes of every heart, Lord…we want to see You in this election…we want to see You raise up the leaders of Your choice…the leaders who will lead us in Your heart,Your will and Your ways…period…the leaders who will turn this nation back to You.

Pray, Church, pray…over the next four days…pray like You’ve never prayed before! Pray humbly…repent on behalf of ourselves and on behalf of a nation that wants to push God out. Seek His face like we’ve never sought it before…on behalf of the unborn…on behalf of the freedom to worship Jesus Christ freely…on behalf of prayer, commandments and Creationism…on behalf of our children growing up and being able to have marriage and family as defined by the Word of God and by the Defense of Marriage Act.

Please, people of God…don’t be deceived by the humanistic agenda that has permeated our culture…instead, wake up to it…discern it…let Christ in you shine His light and His truth on it…don’t harden your hearts to the truth of His word…too much is at stake in this election…too many lives have already been lost…too many freedoms have already been taken away. We must awaken now and trust that is not already too late…so many are suffering the consequences of being part of a deceived, ignorant nation, who doesn’t want God and who doesn’t truly know the real God; His love, His goodness, His faithfulness, His righteousness, His justice and all that Christ purchased on our behalf as sons and daughters of the King.

Regardless of what people think or say, God is still the one who raises up and tears down leaders…if we, as a nation, choose leaders who do not want to lead with His heart He will give us what we ask for…He did it all the time in the Bible and look how that turned out…captivity, exile, bondage and devastation. Half our country is possibly already in the place of choosing a leader who will not lead according to the Kingdom of Heaven, and they are being extremely vocal thanks to the media and our educational institutions. Church – it’s time to activate “greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 is clear…IF His people, who are called by His name, will humble themselves and IF we will pray and IF we will seek His face…that’s the clarion call before us…only then will He come and heal our land. If there are any doubts that our nation needs healing…look around…listen to the news…we heard the campaign speeches and advertisements. We cannot continue to push God out of our nation and think that we will be a blessed and protected nation. We cannot be naive enough to think that one man can change everything around in one term…that one man can do anything on his own of anything good without God…sowing and reaping is a Biblical principle and a truth…regardless of whether or not one believes in the Bible…we will reap what we sow.

Will we sow humility, prayer and seeking the face of God or will we sow into leaders who will continue to lead us down this dark path…a path that is clearly leading to the unfolding of the events of Revelations (those of us who truly know the Lord will stand in the assurance of the victory already won, but is the Lord saying, “It’s time,” or is Satan trying to preempt things to lessen the harvest Jesus is so deserving of?). The choice is clear…if the candidate is not pro-life, he/she does not value human life of any kind…period, and regardless of what he/she says, does not really care about you either. If a candidate is for redefining marriage then the Word of God is not in them, therefore the Truth is not in them, and they are deceived. Do we want leaders who are deceived leading us into more deception, lest we be even more deceived? I pray not.

Pray. Pray. Pray. Seek. Seek. Seek. Repent. Repent. Repent. (We cannot pray self-centered, bless-me prayers. We need to pray what Heaven is speaking. We need to seek intimate relationship with Him in order to pray what He is speaking. Jesus prayed continually and He did what the Father revealed to Him. Jesus in us will lead us to see, hear and do what the Father is revealing in this critical hour if we really want to know Him. If our lives are not in line with Scripture then we don’t really know Him. If we think Scripture is not relevant for today then we don’t really know Him. If we think that only parts of Scripture are true or pertain to anything today then we don’t really know Him. It’s either all true (2 Timothy 3:16) or none of it is…do we really want to risk making a guess on that one? Our vote will reflect what we really believe. As American Christians, we were to vote…it was critical in this election, and because Jesus died for abundant life we were to vote pro-life…this journey is all about LIFE…and, we must continue to vote and live pro-family as defined by the Word of God regardless of the 2008 outcome.

Humility. Prayer. Seeking. Prayerfully the Church has moved into a new season that will be defined by these qualities more than ever before.
