Hannah’s Prayer 2008
By Tammy on Dec 13, 2008 in Identity in Christ
Where ARE the Samuels, Davids, Josiahs, Esthers, and Daniels of this generation? I have labored fervently in prayer for many years that a wholehearted Kingdom generation would arise. Either the Lord has kept them hidden until an appointed time, or they are a prophetic vision of a future generation yet to be seen. Personally, I believe they have been hidden “for such a time as this,” and the time is now for those who have carried this burden for the children and youth of our day to cry out for their release.
Hannah gave birth to Samuel and brought him to Eli to be trained up in the Temple (as a fulfillment of her promise to the Lord in exchange for a child), right next to the Ark of the Covenant (1 Samuel 3:3). Samuel was raised up in the house of the Lord where he learned to recognize and obey the voice of the Lord from an early age. He communed with God throughout each day…he even slept near the Ark of the Covenant, which represented the presence of the Lord in the Temple in that day. Today, each of us having received and professed Jesus Christ as Lord, represents the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we have a responsibility to teach our children and youth how to: 1) desire and yearn for their Lord and Savior above all things; 2) hear and obey the voice of their Heavenly Father; 3) be in the Word, pray and worship at all times and in all seasons; 4) rise up in the authority of Christ Jesus in us and learn to advance His Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven. This will include taking back all that the enemy has stolen from the Kingdom of God and from His people…everything from the sanctity of life and marriage, the commandments, and prayer (the politically correct aetheist/humanist agenda to separate church and state – which by the way is not in the Constitution), to music and the arts, business, media, monetary wealth and government, to destinies, mantles and callings, to the manifestation of justice, purity and holiness.
This generation needs to take hold of God’s heart for the poor and needy, the abused, the sick, the war-torn, the persecuted and those who cannot speak for themselves. When this generation learns to seek the Father’s heart wholeheartedly through His Word, worship and intercession, they will wage war on the kingdom of darkness (powers and principalities) with mighty weapons that will tear down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-6). When this generation rises up with a passion for their King and Bridegroom, and with a revelation of who they are in Christ, the church will then begin manifest a greater measure of what Jesus’ death and resurrection purchased on our behalf (Daniel 11:32, ”But the people who do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” John 14:12, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”)
God is birthing a response to the prayers of today’s Hannahs (1 Samuel 1-3) who have cried out for a generation of children and youth who love the Lord God Almighty with all their heart, soul, mind and strength; Hannahs who have fervently labored for years on behalf of a generation not lured or distracted by the world and what the world (the culture and the media) deems as acceptable and popular. God has seen the hearts of the Hannahs who desire to train their children up in the way they should go; children whose only testimony is to have walked with the Lord all the days of their lives.
My heart and prayer burdens have been likened to that of Hannah’s. My spirit has been pregnant with the purposes of the Lord in birthing a generation of Samuels who are fully consecrated to the Lord and His Kingdom purposes from an early age; a generation of Davids who are wholeheartedly after His heart from their youth; and a generation of Esthers, Josiahs and Daniels who stand boldly against the culture to obediently advance the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. This new generation will be a presence generation; they will love the Lord and His presence with a fiery passion, and will yearn to live a 24/7 lifestyle of worship in spirit and truth. They will intercede for the advancement of the Kingdom of God on the earth, will war against anything and everything that hinders His love and His purposes with supernatural weapons not of this world, and they will prepare for the return of Christ and His eternal reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I’m talking about the kids of this generation and the generation to come walking out the manifestation and fulfillment of the book of Revelation! Every prayer and every day intensely and purposefully matters!
My Dearest Lord and Savior
Where is the passionate and radical generation longing to be wholehearted lovers of You? Where is the generation who will not be distracted and lured by the things of this world? Where is the generation who sees You, Jesus, as their hero? Where are the stadiums filled with those who have come to worship You? My spirit has fervently labored in pray to birth this 24/7 generation of Samuels and Davids who love You and desire Your presence above all else…of Esthers, Josiahs, and Daniels who will stand boldly for You to obediently advance Your Kingdom here on earth…those who long to see Your Kingdom come and Your will be done each and every day wherever we’ve been called and however you have gifted, purposed and called us to release it. Please use what You have birthed in my heart to birth and encourage the hearts of all those You are raising up to mentor Your chosen generation; those called to train up and prepare the generation You are calling forth to carry the torch of Your Holy Spirit and to yield the sword of Your Word from the youngest of ages. Please release your chosen generation here on earth to see and hear the things that are on Your heart – Your good and perfect will – Your love, Your compassion, Your justice, Your mercy, and Your holiness to draw every nation unto Yourself. In Your Beautiful Name, Jesus, I Pray
