Our family has been spending much time in worship, prayer and seeking the presence of the Lord in the midst of all that has been transpiring in our nation. Recently our eleven year old son was given a vision as we worshiped. He saw two bowls. The first bowl was fragile and was filled with over ripened fruit. On the front of the bowl was a carving of wheat stalks. Next to the wheat stalks he saw an archangel with a sickle. The second bowl was plastic and filled with unripened fruit. Wheat stalks were also carved on the front of this bowl, however, there was no angel next to this bowl.

I believe our son was given a very accurate picture of our nation at this time; it’s divided. We are either living for the Kingdom of light (the Kingdom of Heaven/the Kingdom of God) or we are living for the kingdom of darkness…two bowls…there is no middle kingdom, no middle ground, no fence. The Father desires that ALL would come to know Him. Jesus died for the sins of ALL, yet He said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matthew 9:37-38, Luke 10:3). In the passage from Luke, Jesus continues to add, “Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves…Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you’…(Luke 10:3-11). He also said,“Therefore go make disciples of all nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20). Jesus didn’t tell His followers to “go make converts”; He told them to “go make disciples.” A disciple is someone who believes AND acts; teaching them to obey everything He commanded them.

The Lord has been preparing many of us for such a time as this. The most important thing we can do every single day is seek His leading…where to go and what to say to each person or in each circumstance or place He directs us to. He has prepared a ripened harvest of souls with angels standing ready to reap them into His Kingdom in this new season we are entering into. He is also in the process of preparing a harvest of souls that will eventually ripen if we continue to pray and to be obedient. We must keep our eyes on Him and keep our spiritual ears open and available. He knows every detail needed for bearing much fruit for His Kingdom. As things begin to unfold in the months ahead, there will be many who are and who will be looking for love, healing, understanding, direction, answers and provision. Those of us who have wholeheartedly submitted to the Lord and His ways will be thrust out into the darkness to be available and to do battle on behalf of those who will say, “yes,” to Him and to His Kingdom ways.

Pray for our leaders and for those the Lord will reveal in our paths; those He desires to give new, undivided hearts to, removing hearts of stone, replacing them with hearts of flesh, and putting His Spirit within them. Pray that they would be moved to follow His decrees and careful to keep His laws. Pray that they would be His people and He would be their God. Pray they He would save this nation from our many sins; that more and more truth would penetrate the hearts and minds of so many who don’t understand God’s heart for the unborn, for the sanctity of marriage and for stewarding the wealth of His Kingdom (especially for those who would consider themselves to be Christians). Pray that He would call again for plenty, and not bring famine or disgrace upon us among the nations. Pray that He would again breathe life on our dry bones, and rebuild us as one nation under God (Ezekiel 11:19-20; 36:26-28;37).

The battle for the harvest in this nation will intensify, but those who know their God will be strong and do mighty exploits, and He will reap an abundant harvest of souls for His Kingdom; sons and daughters made pure, spotless and ready for His return!
